Owner and Pitboss of NakedQ, Oren Hartman first brought BBQ to AZ in 2014. Before he opened his restaurant, Hartman traveled the country, eating lots of BBQ and learning the regional differences that make American BBQ truly unique. The result?

“[Hartman] took all of these BBQ experiences from across the country and created NakedQ, where we rub, smoke and serve our meats naked (without sauce) like pork, ribs, brisket, links, turkey, and chicken with our tried and true recipes,” says the BBQ joint’s website.

Now there’s a good chance NakedQ is coming to Glendale. Hartman recently filed for a liquor license at 9405 W Glendale Ave., Building C, STE 120. Hartman was unavailable for comment at the time of publication, so you’ll want to check back in for details.

Just know that NakedQ does it all—from pulled pork and pulled chicken to brisket, hot links, and turkey. They also serve up classic sides like creamy or Carolina slaw, BBQ baked beans, cornbread, and mac and cheese.

The BBQ joint even won an award for service to the community. Oren Hartman was named Best of the Valley 2020 for helping community members and health care heroes during the pandemic.

Writing on Instagram about the award, Hartman said, “We are very fortunate and often share accolades or awards that are geared toward the delicious BBQ that we serve…this is a bit different and I’m probably more proud of this one! It’s my picture but really it was the whole crew that dove in and helped make it happen!”
