Pioneer Courthouse Square, the plaza known as “Portland’s living room,” looks to be adding a new bar to its roster of food and drink spots.

This week, What Now came across liquor licensing paperwork submitted by Round Peg LLC for a new bar called Square Bar, which would open at 701 SW Sixth Ave.

To be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Square Bar would feature outdoor seating for 60 guests, the paperwork says.

What Now reached out on Wednesday to Stuart Faris, one of the principals behind the project, to ask about Square Bar. Faris was not immediately available for comment.

Opening in the Southwest Sixth Avenue space, Square Bar would join a food and drink community that includes concepts like Fried Egg I’m in Love and The Block.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
