Alma has reopened following a renovation that refreshed its dining space. The restaurant is also celebrating its first year in the neighborhood. Alma, the Balkan-inspired concept from Chef Vedran Jordan, has introduced an All-You-Can-Enjoy dining experience.
Alma Marks First Anniversary with Refreshed Experience

Alma recently reopened following a short renovation period of about three weeks. It is one of the beloved Balkan restaurants in Portland. The refreshed concept continues to pair Balkan flavors with seasonal Pacific Northwest ingredients.
The new dining room is filled with antique furniture, family antiques, and decor from across the Balkans. Vintage ceramics, hand-woven textiles, brass and copper vessels, and family photographs help create an atmosphere inspired by a traditional Balkan family home.
Katie Horley, Marketing & Events Director at L3F Hospitality Group, worked with the Alma team to lead the redesign. According to the team, the redesign reflects Alma’s next chapter and its focus on ‘Unlimited Balkan Hospitality.’
In addition to the redesign, Alma also introduced a new All-You-Can-Enjoy dining experience, available for $55 per person. It’s a continuous flow of shareable bites with a twist of Balkan flavors. The restaurant’s menu also features mezze, vegetables, seafood, meats, and other specialties for guests to enjoy, with optional extras on larger plates.
Alma is open Thursday through Saturday from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. Happy hour runs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., with dinner service continuing through 9:00 p.m. The experience costs $25 for children ages 7 to 12, while children 6 and under dine free.

Inside Alma’s New Balkan Menu and All-You-Can-Enjoy Offerings

The menu at Alma is centered around communal dining, encouraging guests to share plates as they arrive throughout the meal. Signature dishes include Tomato Dolma with Oregon Coast poached albacore, capers, toum yogurt, and grilled mackerel.
Other highlights are traditional Balkan sausage dishes such as Sarajevo Style Cevapi and Imam Biyaldi, which is a half-roasted eggplant stewed with tomatoes and aromatic vegetables.
The restaurant’s cocktail menu complements the food. Highlights include the Curtain Call, Miso Passionate, and the Balkan Breakfast. In addition to the all-you-can-enjoy format, guests can order a selection of à la carte dishes at the bar.
Born and raised in Sarajevo, Chef Vedran Jordan started Alma to honor the vibrant family life and cooking he shared in his youth. The restaurant is named after his mother and is a fusion of gourmet Balkan cuisine and modern influences.
