Bliss Marketplace is preparing to open its fourth and largest location at Folsom Premium Outlets, 13000 Folsom Blvd, with co-founder Sydnei Kelly confirming to What Now Sacramento that the new vintage-and-handmade vendor mall is aiming to open by the end of July or early August. The business will take over a 22,000-square-foot space at the outlet center, more than double the size of its largest current location.

The brand currently operates Bliss Marketplace in Rancho Cordova, Midtown Bliss Home & Gifts in Sacramento, and Bliss Market in Roseville. The space has previously been home to several retailers, including Saks Off 5th and Falling Prices. Now, Bliss Marketplace will give more room to grow its vendor community, with space for around 200 vendors inside the new location.

The concept is straightforward: local vendors rent 10-by-10-foot booth spaces, each individually curated and staged, with all merchandise funneling through a central register system for a smooth checkout experience. We asked Kelly what customers can find in the store, and she said, “I think a better question is what WON’T shoppers find at this location”. Giving us a sense of just how vast and varied the Folsom location is set to be.

It’s also worth clarifying what Bliss is not. “We are not a thrift store, flea market, or garage sale type of place,” Kelly told What Now Sacramento. “While many of our vendors do carry vintage or second-hand items, each vendor curates their items or handmakes their items, and their prices reflect the time and effort they put into sourcing, cleaning, pricing, and merchandising their inventory.”

Founded in 2016 by Kelly and co-owner Stacy Tomlinson, Bliss was built on the idea of giving local makers and vintage vendors a place to grow their businesses without bearing the full weight of a brick-and-mortar storefront. The business is still accepting vendor applications for the Folsom location through its website. This addition represents another significant retail move for the Folsom Premium Outlets as the center works to fill its bigger gaps with concepts worth making the trip for
