Camp Bow Wow is preparing to expand into New Braunfels with a new dog daycare and boarding facility, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
The project calls for the construction of a 13,295-square-foot facility at 1450 N. Business IH 35, New Braunfels, TX 78130. Plans include a one-story, fully sprinklered pre-engineered metal building with interior finish-out and associated site work for a dog kennel and daycare operation.
Construction is expected to begin on October 19, 2026, with completion scheduled for July 19, 2027. The project carries an estimated construction cost of $2 million.
According to the state filing, the development will be privately funded. WETA-DAWGS New Braunfels, LLC is listed as the property owner, while Open Studio Architecture is serving as the project’s design firm.
Founded in 2000, Camp Bow Wow has grown into one of North America’s largest pet care franchise systems, offering dog daycare, overnight boarding, grooming, training and enrichment services through locations across the United States and Canada. The brand is known for its open-play daycare model, giving dogs opportunities to socialise in supervised group settings.
If completed as planned, the New Braunfels location will expand the brand’s presence in the Greater San Antonio area and provide local pet owners with an additional option for daycare and overnight boarding services.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the property owner to learn more about the project, including ownership of the future Camp Bow Wow location, the anticipated opening timeline and what services customers can expect. This article may be updated as more information becomes available.
