Out There Coffee Roasters recently shared an update on Instagram, revealing that the company is actively searching for a second location in San Francisco. In the post, the business told followers it is “getting so close to finding the perfect spot” and expressed excitement about serving more of the city’s coffee community.

The announcement was confirmed to WhatNow by founder and former barista Erica Ash and marks a significant milestone for the woman-founded specialty coffee company, which began as a series of local pop-ups in 2020 before opening its first brick-and-mortar café in 2024. Since then, Out There has built a reputation for approachable specialty coffee, community-focused service, and ethically sourced beans roasted in small batches in the Bay Area.

Ash also noted that while the company is actively searching for a second San Francisco location, negotiations have not yet been finalized, and there is currently no projected opening timeline.

According to the company’s website, Out There was created with the goal of making specialty coffee feel welcoming and accessible. The business describes itself as a place where “everyone feels like they belong,” a philosophy that has helped it grow from neighborhood pop-ups into an established local café.
