Jollibee is preparing for significant growth in California, according to a recent article by the San Francisco Chronicle. The popular Filipino fast-food chain plans to open 15 new restaurants throughout the region over the next eight years.

While the company has not disclosed the exact locations of the future restaurants, the expansion effort will be led by franchise operator George Almeida, a restaurateur based in Concord. The planned growth will add to Jollibee’s current 35 locations in California, which include restaurants throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento region.

In addition to the new locations, Jollibee is still working toward opening its long-anticipated restaurant at 934 Market Street in downtown San Francisco, a project that has been in development for several years.

Founded in the Philippines in 1978, Jollibee has grown into one of the world’s largest quick-service restaurant brands, operating thousands of locations across more than a dozen countries.

The chain is best known for menu favorites such as Chickenjoy fried chicken, Jolly Spaghetti, and Peach Mango Pie. In recent years, Jollibee has also attracted a broader audience through social media buzz and favorable rankings from food critics, helping fuel its continued expansion throughout North America.
