According to a recently submitted permit application, TKK Fried Chicken plans to debut a new outpost at 2431 Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley — near establishments such as 1951 Coffee Company, Crossroads, and Mezzo.

What Now San Francisco reached out to the outpost’s franchisee, Franco Ooi, to inquire about the expansion, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

For readers unfamiliar with the fast-casual concept, “founded in 1974 by Shih Kwei-ting, TKK is a Taiwanese chain of fried chicken restaurants that has been around for over 40 years.” Headquartered in New Taipei City, TKK now has nearly 70 locations across the US, Shanghai, and Taipei.

On the menu, locals can expect to find fried bone-in chicken, chicken tenders, and fried chicken sandwiches, as well as sides such as curly fries, shishito pepper, and charred corn.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
