Café Hagen plans to open at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, where the concept is listed as The Café Hagen Hall, according to a Port of Seattle announcement.
The future café is planned for space CT-19 in the Central Terminal. A Starbucks currently occupies the space, which sits between Vyne and Lucky Louie.
Construction schedules will vary across the 17 new dining and retail spaces included in the Port’s announcement, with work on some expected to begin in 2027. An exact opening date for Café Hagen’s airport location has not yet been announced.
Owner Maria Beck opened the first Café Hagen in South Lake Union in 2019 after moving to Seattle from Scandinavia. The concept draws inspiration from hygge, the Scandinavian idea of creating comfort and enjoying simple daily moments.
“We roast our own coffee through Hagen Coffee Roasters and hand-bake our pastries through Freya Bakery,” Beck told What Now Seattle. “Those are a big part of the experience we’re excited to bring to SEA.”
Beyond coffee and pastries, Café Hagen’s current menus include brunch dishes and Scandinavian-influenced food, while some locations serve wine, beer, and cocktails.
The coffee shop currently operates seven locations across Seattle, Bellevue, and Kirkland. Follow Café Hagen on Instagram for updates.
