Following the closure of PG Clucks in July, the owners are venturing forward with a new concept in the Little Italy space that formerly housed one of the PG Clucks locations. Pawel and Steph Grezlikowski will open Loomi Pita Bakery at 610 College St. “in just a few weeks,” according to a recent social media announcement from the brand.

The pivot to Loomi will usher in a shift from fried chicken to sourdough pitas baked fresh all day.

“To everyone who came out and waited in line for one last meal, sent us the most heart warming messages, emails and shared stories with us in the restaurant, thank you so so much! We didn’t realize how many warm memories our little fried chicken shop had created for so many of you over the years, and the effect the restaurant had on so many lives,” the team said in an Aug. 29 announcement. “Thank you so much again for all of the love and support over the last 10 years, and we can’t wait to cook for you all very soon at Loomi!”

The team has been teasing menu items on their Instagram page, such as a braised brisket pita with sourdough pita, slow-cooked brisket, muhamara, labneh ranch, pickled cabbage, tahini sauce and sumac onions. For those missing PG Clucks’ fried chicken, there appears to be a fried chicken pita lined up to join the menu with pita, crispy chicken, labneh ranch, tahini slaw and coriander pickles.

The other former PG Clucks location at at 1112 Queen St. W. is transforming into popular Ottawa-based smash burger joint Smash Daddy.
