Scottsdale’s Ramen Hood — a play on Robin Hood, the bandit who stole from the rich and gave to the poor — bills itself as an authentic, “build-your-own-bowl” noodle shop with a mission of making “rich” Japanese flavors accessible to everyone.
Everyone in Scottsdale, that is. But soon the Robin Hood of ramen shops will be opening a second location in the newly-renovated Chandler Ranch, which NewQuest purchased in 2019 and is redeveloping with an Asian-influence concept (Chandler Ranch will be anchored by Asian supermarket 99 Ranch Market, set to open May 2021).
The cool thing about Ramen Hood is their friendly approach to Ramen newbies — they offer an array of authentic Japanese ingredients in a casual, low-key environment, and are ready and willing to answer all your noodley questions. They certainly aren’t serving up those packaged, instant noodles with powdery flavor packets — but they won’t judge you if that’s where you’re coming from.
There’s no word on when Ramen Hood’s second location plans to open its doors, but according to a press release Thursday, many of Chandler Ranch’s restaurants are expected to open by the end of the year.
