Korean Restaurant Chain Specializes in Pork-Bone Stews

A new ABC Permit Filing suggests a new restaurant by Zzan Hillcrest Owner Inho Choi is coming to Convoy District. Landing in Seoul Plaza Shopping Mall, the restaurant will replace now-closed Liang’s Kitchen and will neighbor Steamy Piggy and Submarine Crab. 

SanDiegoVille first reported the restaurant is part of a worldwide Korean chain, Jomaru Gamjatang. This will be the first Jomaru in the United States. 

Their menu specializes in a pork-bone stew, called Gamjatang. The star of the show is the pork bone boiled with a variety of vegetables and spices like potato, mushrooms, or cabbage. Their a la cart menu includes dumplings, cold noodle dishes, and fried shrimp. 

What Now San Diego could not confirm the opening plans with Choi but Jomaru is expected to open in Spring 2022
