French Truck Coffee is already looking for a new location in the East Memphis area while it prepares to open its next site at Orleans Station at 694 Madison Ave.

Founder Geoffrey Meeker has focused a lot of his time in the Memphis area, opening a second location at 395 S. Highland Street in 2022, followed by a third area location coming to the Edge District in the third quarter of 2023, according to Memphis Business Journal. While the company is focused on its new third area location, Meeker says he always keeps his eye open for new sites, with East Memphis expected to be the next destination for a location in Tennessee.

“It’s a matter of finding the right setup — one that fits from both a location standpoint and from a deal standpoint,” Meeker tells the Business Journal. “As we continue to grow the footprint in Memphis, we’ll be adding more folks [in Memphis], including a regional director.”

The company currently has 10 locations in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Memphis, with another coming to New Orleans at 700 Canal St. Every French Truck Coffee is different, but all feature the company’s signature yellow accents with polished concrete floors and wood elements. The cafe will feature all its specialty coffee blends and seasonal blends, such as the Summer Buzz, in various coffee forms like regular drip or iced.

“French Truck Coffee was inspired by a bag of coffee brought to me in 2009 by a cousin from San Francisco,” Meeker says on his website. “The coffee had been roasted only two days before I made a cup, and drinking it was an experience I will never forget. It opened my eyes to a concept that is at the core of all good food: use the best, freshest ingredients you can, treat them properly, serve them immediately, and the results will always be better than mass-produced. We buy the best beans we can find, roast them in small batches, and get them to you promptly.”
