According to a recently submitted permit application, a new eatery, Lao Garden, is coming to Berkeley.

Taking over a spot at 2514 San Pablo Avenue — an address formerly home to the Italian restaurant Paisan — the eatery will soon neighbor establishments such as Anthony’s Cookies, d.o.g. Food Truck, and Far Leaves Tea.

Co-Owner Kanlaya Palivan tells What Now San Francisco that the menu will boast a “tantalizing tapestry of Laotian culinary delights that promises a symphony of flavors and aromas.”

Specialties will include “Thu Lith’s Famous Saikoo” — tapioca balls stuffed with roasted peanuts, sweet radish, fresh herb, and ground pork — and appetizers such as spring rolls, meatballs, and grilled fish.

Palivan invites locals to “embark on a gastronomic adventure that celebrates the rich, aromatic essence of Laotian culinary mastery” when Lao Garden opens in early spring.
