The team behind The Local Eatery and Craft Beer in Forest Hills, Queens, is seeking a space in the East Village for a new bar concept.

The team submitted an application to acquire the ground floor space of the four-story mixed-use building at 216 Avenue A in the East Village. The unnamed concept is billed as a “tavern bar” that will serve pizza, as well as beer, wine and cider.

Its proposed hours of operation are noon to midnight from Sunday through Wednesday and noon until 1 a.m. from Thursday through Saturday. It is slated to offer five tables with 25 seats, as well as one stand-up bar with 15 seats.

The team debuted their flagship concept in August 2020, which is a neighborhood burger and beer joint known for having over 200 types of beer cans and bottles, as well as bar food staples such as wings, sandwiches and salads.

“Love this place. Literally everything we’ve ever had there has been excellent,” one customer testimonial reads. “And the folks there are kind. Love the food, the beer on draught and the new look. This place is a local gem.”

“Cool & lovely taproom / sandwich shop with a great ambiance,” another reads. “Perfect spot to grab a local brew and snack, catch up with friends.”

“Fun and chill at the same time, peaceful vibe that just feels right in the neighborhood.”
