According to a press release announcing the opening date of a new Chopt location in New Jersey’s Cherry Hill, the “creative salad co.” will also be opening a location in the Philadelphia suburb of Bryn Mawr by year’s end.
That location will take up residence in a mixed-use development dubbed Bryn Mawr Village, located on West Lancaster Ave, in the “heart of the ‘Main Line’ [and] in close proximity to Bryn Mawr Hospital, Villanova University, and Suburban Square,” according to a listing from Metro Commercial, a retail real estate advisory firm handling the development. Likewise, according to an attached site plan, Chopt will be located in Unit 13 of Building 1, at the corner of West Lancaster and Merion Avenue.
A representative from Chopt could not immediately be reached for comment on the Bryn Mawr location.
What Now Philadelphia previously reported on the Cherry Hill opening, set for Wednesday, August 31. The press release provided to What Now Philly reads, in part:
“Leaning into the continuous pursuit of improving the guest experience, the Cherry Chill restaurant will be the first Chopt with a mobile pickup window for ease and convenience. As a reflection on Chopt’s core motto, “Better Tastes Better,” Cherry Hill falls into stride with all Chopt locations in sustainability and sourcing efforts. All menu offerings are offered in 100% compostable bowls made from sugar cane, which are capable of naturally breaking down without creating any new waste. To further reduce plastic use, Chopt partners with Proud Source Water – a refreshing, natural alkaline spring water brand that is sustainably packaged in infinitely recyclable aluminum bottles. ”
Although Cherry Hill borders Philadelphia – sitting just across the Delaware River – Chopt’s only Pennsylvania location opened this past June in Newtown. Nevertheless, in a statement, Chopt co-founder Colin McCabe explained, “We’ve embraced and been embraced by the Garden State and look forward to building stronger communities in the area,” adding, “This is just the start; we’ve got more to come with another opening in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania later this year.”
Founded in 2001 by McCabe and Tony Shure, Chopt now has more than 80 restaurants across 11 territories.
