It appears Wiseacre Brewery is working on opening a kiosk bar within the Memphis International Airport located at 2491 Winchester Rd.

Franchise operator HMS Mem, otherwise known as HMSHost Memphis, recently applied for a commercial alteration permit for a Wiseacre Bar #2-CK1-108, according to public records. The new airport concession stand will offer draft beer in disposable cups and prepackaged foods prepared on-site. While the city is still considering the plan review, the project includes new electrical, plumbing, equipment, floor, ceiling treatment, and furniture, according to record details.

Wiseacre Brewing has two locations: one Downtown at 398 S BB King Blvd and its original taproom at 2783 Broad Avenue. Its downtown location also features a Little Bettie, a pizza and snack bar, brought to life by Enjoy A|M Restaurant Group. The new site at the Memphis International Airport will likely only serve alcohol.

If plans are approved, and HMSHost can bring this brewery to the airport, it will only have to compete with Memphis Made Brewing between gates 3 and 5. Other eateries currently found in the airport include Ramblin’s Joe’s Coffee, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Chili’s Grill & Bar, Lenny’s Grill & Subs, Stage Left Pizza, and the Grizz Grill. All of these restaurants and bars are operated by HMSHost.
