Indoor golf simulator Five Iron Golf is opening a third location at Ranch Triangle, located at 1000 W. North Ave.

The new 13,150 square foot urban indoor golf experience will move into North & Sheffield Commons sometime in Spring 2022, according to Eater Chicago. Five Iron Golf currently has 11 locations throughout the United States, including two in Chicago at The Loop and River North and a 12th location in Singapore. The new entertainment area will also feature a full-service bar and restaurant, as well as offer private and group lessons, plus a place to buy equipment and merchandise.

The fast-growing company started as an idea in 2015 when Mike Doyle was teaching simulator lessons in the back of a men’s clothing store in midtown Manhattan. He soon began working with student Jared Solomon, and together they fantasized about building an indoor facility where Doyle could expand his teaching of golf. The duo, lacking knowledge of starting a business, enlisted summer camp friend Nora Dunnan and Jared’s wife, Katherine Solomon. The four would become Five Iron Golf founders and open the business in mid-2017.

As the company grew and more locations popped up around the country, guests quickly realized how much fun it was, especially with The Trackman, which tracks ball speed, attack angle, club path, face angle, and more. Once an appetite is grown, guests can order from their on-site restaurant. The new Five Iron Golf will offer shareable starters, various salads, flatbread pizzas, and other American classics such as the Chicago dog and 100% Angus beef sliders.
