A new banquet hall called Cosmopolitan Eventos is on the way for Palatine at the Laredo Plaza shopping center on Dundee Road at Baldwin Road.
A liquor license application was submitted to the Palatine Village Council this week for the event space, operated by Saahar Group Inc. According to their business plan, the venue plans to offer “flexible budget options” for “celebrations, corporate functions, luncheons and charitable events.” The menu is set to offer a variety of Greek, Italian, and Mexican inspired dishes, as well as optional alcohol packages.
The location, at 1170 E Dundee Road, has previously been home to three other banquet halls: Brandi’s Banquets, which closed in 2013; Rosa Bella Banquets, which shuttered in 2018; and Excellence Banquets, which closed in 2020.
Saahar Group Inc. owner Eduardo Haro has high hopes for the venture, calling it a “very good area for these types of events.” They chose the name Cosmopolitan Eventos, he says, because “the area is very cosmopolitan.”
Haro has experience in the banquet hall business and was involved in Rosa Bella Banquets when it held the space. He says their commitment to great management will set Cosmopolitan Eventos apart from other venues.
The company has yet to set an opening date as they await the approval of their liquor license. However, a new website is under construction that will display information on packages, pricing and booking within the month. Said Haro: “We look forward to being a part of everyone’s celebrations very soon.”
