Ballyhoo Hospitality announced the opening of its tenth restaurant, Gemini Grill.
Anchoring the newly-completed luxury residence towers, One Chicago at 748 N. State St., Gemini Grill is inspired by Ballyhoo Hospitality’s first concept, Gemini in Lincoln Park.
The restaurant occupies an expansive two-story space. The first floor has a beautiful racetrack bar with high-top tables for grabbing a quick bite or cocktail. The main dining room features a number of cozy clamshell booths with large mirrors hanging directly above them – a subtle nod to the original Gemini in Lincoln Park. A series of partitions artfully separate the dining sections to give each one an intimate feel. Via an abundance of windows, the entire space is bathed in natural light, which helps illuminate the decor and gives the space a light and airy feel during the day. At night, those same windows pull the energy of the city into the candlelit dining room designed by local design firm Siren Betty.
Gemini Grill’s second floor provides a setting for private events and includes its own bar overlooking the Holy Name Cathedral. The wood paneling is reminiscent of a private members’ club juxtaposed with patterns, textures, and lighting that bring a welcoming touch. During the warm months, an outdoor courtyard offers a vibrant scene where guests enjoy meals and cocktails, including the restaurant’s signature Squirtsky. Gemini Grill’s patio will be dog-friendly.
The artwork at Gemini Grill draws inspiration from the distinctive traits of the Gemini sign, incorporating a blend of both subtle and overt elements. This carefully curated collection enhances the atmosphere of the restaurant to create an exceptional dining experience, including original artwork by Beth O’Donnell.
Gemini Grill is now serving lunch daily from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; brunch and dinner service will be coming soon. Diners can expect a classic and modern American fare menu that includes salads, sandwiches, shareables, and a handful of bistro-inspired entrees. Highlights from the opening menu include:
Bigeye Tuna Crudo

“Expanding our Gemini concept and bringing a new iteration to another trusted neighborhood is exciting. As we celebrate the 15th anniversary of Gemini Lincoln Park, it’s not just about the restaurant; it’s about the community that has supported us all these years,” says Ballyhoo Founder and CEO Ryan O’Donnell in a statement.
