Cafe Ruisseau is working on a fourth location in Glendale, according to the company’s website. The black-owned coffee shop currently has open stores in Beverly Hills, Playa Vista and Santa Monica.

Cafe Ruisseau carries a full line of traditional coffee options like espressos and cold brews, as well as matcha, chai, pastries, bowls and specialty drinks like their honey lavender latte and butterfly tea lemonade.

Customers can also pick up the brand’s coffee beans by the bag. Their blends’ names pay homage to legendary African American figures like Mamba (Kobe Bryant’s nickname), Illmatic (the Nas album), Black Star (iconic hip hop duo Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli) and Miseducation (of Lauryn Hill).

“We’re passionate about coffee, people, culture and community,” their website says. “As well, we believe that spaces for people to really connect and just be are being replaced by fast impersonal mass produced mediocrity. We aspire to be the opposite of that.”

Cafe Ruisseau, which first opened in 2005, is owned by Edward Ackah-Miezah. The Glendale outpost is scheduled to open by the end of March.
