A new 13,500-square-foot food hall, located at 2600 E. Main St. in Spartanburg, is preparing to debut early next year.
This is the latest project from Freedom Commercial Real Estate, replacing Le Baron restaurant, according to the Post & Courier. About 7,000 square feet of the space is being dedicated to the food hall, offering smash burgers, pizza and pasta, and bar/taproom/cocktail concepts. So far, Colorado-based Ziggi’s Coffee is the only tenant to sign officially, taking over 2,000 square feet on the building’s left end.
This is just one of many developments in the East Side that are leading to significant economic growth. Down the street, Webber Square Shopping Center is being redeveloped into a new retail center, and Texas-based Whataburger is opening its first South Carolina location. Back at the food hall, Bailiegh Reardon, who owns concepts in other food halls, is also planning to open a new bar-focused concept at the Eastside food hall. The new, yet-to-be-named food hall is expected to open in spring 2024.
“This serves as a community dining hub for the residents,” Ryan Robertson, managing partner with Freedom Commercial Real Estate, tells the Post & Courier. “But, it is also for the people who travel there for school and athletics. They will be able to come here and enjoy craft beer and scratch-made food.”
