Cline’s Custom Meats, the San Marco butcher shop offering the finest quality meats, is relocating to 1225 Hendricks Ave.
The butcher shop recently received a $121,687 permit for a tenant build-out in the former home of Art Center Cooperative, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. Owner Joseph Cline tells What Now Jacksonville he hopes to open the new location around mid-July or August. This new site will be much larger than the original, Cline says, allowing it to be more effective in what the company serves under one roof. The back of the building is currently being renovated to be the company’s commercial kitchen, while the front half will be the butcher shop.
When Cline’s Custom Meats relocates this summer from 1625 Hendrick Avenue, customers can expect the same quality selection of beef, lamb, poultry, and fish that the company has offered San Marco over the past ten years. Joseph and Loudda Cline opened the butcher shop after over 12 years of experience in the beef industry, with Joseph working for the top two beef companies in the country. The family-owned company comes from a long history of other family members owning similar businesses.
To expand its offerings, Cline’s offers online ordering and gift cards available for purchase. Cline’s Customer Meats also offers a monthly beef class, where a butcher breaks down a variety of loins and discusses the features and benefits of each cut, according to the company’s website. Participants will learn about the different grades of beef, aging, breakdown, sourcing, and cost, wagyu beef, grass-fed versus grain-fed, and all things related to the beef industry.
