Whole Foods Market is coming to Durbin Park, giving the growing Jacksonville-area community another major grocery option as a new shopping center takes shape along East Peyton Parkway.

The store will anchor The Berkeley at Durbin Park, a 106,054-square-foot open-air retail development planned next to UF Health Durbin Park. The center is being developed and owned by Regency Centers, which began the $55 million project in the second quarter of 2026.

The Berkeley will be located near the intersection of I-95 and State Road 9B, putting Whole Foods in the middle of one of the area’s rapidly expanding residential and commercial corridors.

Whole Foods will be joined by TJ Maxx, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and Shake Shack, which have also been announced as tenants for the new center. Additional retail, dining and service spaces are planned as leasing continues.

The grocer currently operates a Jacksonville store at 10601 San Jose Blvd., while its newer Downtown Jacksonville location opened at 1 Riverside Ave. in May 2026.

Whole Foods Market is known for its focus on natural and organic groceries, fresh produce, prepared foods, specialty products and a range of in-store services. Individual locations can also feature amenities such as hot and salad bars, bakery departments, beer and wine, prepared foods and specialty counters.

The Berkeley itself is designed to bring grocery shopping together with dining, retail and everyday services. Regency’s latest investor materials put the development’s expected completion in 2028.

The project is part of Regency Centers’ broader investment in the Jacksonville area. The company is also developing The Village at Seven Pines, a 250,000-square-foot project elsewhere in the Jacksonville metro.

For now, Whole Foods shoppers will have to wait a little longer for the new Durbin Park location. Construction is underway, but an official opening date for the grocery store has not been announced.
