Not one but three new restaurants are expected to come to Book Tower in the early Fall of 2023, according to a press release made by Bedrock Detroit in July. The new concepts will open at the known Detroit landmark at 1265 Washington Boulevard.
Bedrock Detroit currently owns Book Tower, though the new restaurants are under the ownership of Method Co.
Hiroki San, Sakazuki, and Kamper’s will all be opening in different locations in the building. Hiroki San will be on the lower level of Book Tower. Bedrock’s press release states, Sakazuki will be on the ground level and Kamper’s on the 14th-floor rooftop.
Hiroki San is an iteration of Hiroki in Philadelphia, one of many Method Co. concepts. The restaurant is set to have a Japanese izakaya and omakase-style menu. The restaurant is being designed by Method Studios and Stokes Architecture & Design.
The casual restaurant, Sakazuki is set to have sandwiches and sake. It will also feature one of a kind Japanese drink menu. This joint is also a project by Method Studios and Stokes Architecture & Design.
Views of downtown Detroit will be aplenty at Kamper’s the rooftop bar on the 14th-story of Book Tower. This cocktail lounge will feature indoor and outdoor seating areas as said in the Bedrock press release. The name of the new lounge is a nod to the original architect of Book Tower, Louis Kamper.
Method Co. is known for concepts like Hiroki, The Pinch in Charleston, Wm. Mulherin’s in Philadelphia and The Quoin in Wilmington.
What Now Detroit spoke with CEO and Co-Founder, Randall Cook of Method Co. briefly on Sunday. Randall stated, “I don’t want to go into too much detail on the projects, but we are very excited.”
