New Downtown Chipotle Location Set to Open Next Spring

Chipotle will open its first downtown Detroit store with a benefit program supporting employee development.

Downtown Detroit residents and workers craving burritos, bowls, chips and salsa are in for a treat. According to Detroit News, Chipotle has announced the opening of a new downtown location in Detroit’s First National Building, located at 630 Woodward Ave. The new Chiptole will be in Suite 620, next door to Shake Shack.

This will be the second Detroit Chipotle and the first downtown. It is the 56th Chipotle store in Michigan.

Set to open next spring, the Woodward Ave. Chipotle location will offer both dine-in and takeout. There will be a walk-up window for mobile order pick-up as well.

The new location will bring approximately 25 new job opportunities to the community. In addition, Chipotle will also provide bonus benefits, including additional pay, access to debt-free college degree programs, English-as-second-language (ESL) training, and mental healthcare access.

The only other Chipotle location in Detroit is located between Mack Avenue and Radnor Street near Grosse Pointe Farms. At the time of publication, a representative was not available to provide commentary.
