Shota Laitadze, the owner of Georgian Star Bakery Cafe in Brooklyn, has filed paperwork for a liquor license at 643-645 Ninth Avenue. The paperwork indicates plans to open a restaurant called The History featuring Georgian cuisine at the location.
The space is expected to have 23 tables that will seat 118 customers total. It will also have one stand-up bar that will seat 10.
The proposed menu features items like beet salad with goat cheese, oyster mushrooms with French beans and tarragon, and beef steak with wine sauce. Dessert offerings include old-fashioned boiled cream, pumpkin cake and a dessert with raisin and mascarpone.
The proposed hours for the restaurant are 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with an extension until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The Georgian Star Bakery Cafe in Brooklyn serves items like handmade bread, cheeses, meats and Georgian dishes such as pork kuchmachi, nut beef kharcho and khinkali (Georgian dumplings made with beef, cheese and tarragon).
