An established favorite is brewing into a new DFW location. Oak Highlands Brewery will be relocating from the Lake Highlands region to Richardson later this year, reports Culture Map Dallas.

The production facility and taproom will be setting up shop at 500 Lockwood Drive, a space that formerly housed Happy Hippie. Oak Highlands management believes that the new location will afford the brewery with more visibility and a chance to interact with a greater portion of the DFW population. The brand posted a statement about the move on social media, stating: “This opportunity allows OHB to move from an industrial park into a high-traffic retail area that is still a convenient drive for our loyal, beer enthusiasts while also creating outstanding exposure to the DFW area at our new location.”

Oak Highlands intends to use its new space wisely, inviting the public to partake of more of the brewery’s offerings. It states: “The new location will allow Oak Highlands Brewery to expand on the fun events everyone already enjoys. Patrons can expect great live music, food events and competitions, private parties dog rescue fundraisers along with our calendar of weekly events like bingo, trivia, music bingo, and meat raffles!”

While a precise date is not yet available for the opening of Oak Highland’s new location, the establishment will be ready to greet guests by late spring or early summer. The brewery intends to say “goodbye” to its old home in style: “The plan is also to host a big Farewell Party at our current location on Saturday, July 26th at our 10484 Brockwood Road location.”
