brand-new, yet-to-be-named restaurant focusing on Mediterranean-California cuisine is coming to San Diego’s Little Italy as part of the upcoming Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown Little Italy, located at 1646 Front Street.

A representative from the restaurant tells What Now that the hotel is expected to open in late summer 2025. The locally inspired restaurant and lobby bar will serve seasonal dishes made with fresh, regional ingredients and is designed to appeal to both travelers and locals, according to a press release. It will serve as a natural gathering space within the hotel, contributing to the property’s focus on blending elevated hospitality with a sense of neighborhood connection.

The new restaurant will be located inside the new 334-room Courtyard by Marriott, which is currently under construction. The hotel will feature modern townhouse-style suites, guest rooms with open-air balconies, and amenities such as a sky deck pool, sunset terrace, fitness center, and over 10,000 square feet of event space. The property will be situated in the heart of Little Italy, within walking distance of Petco Park, The Embarcadero, and the San Diego Convention Center.

The project is the latest from Schulte Hospitality Group, a division of Schulte Companies. The group operates over 200 properties in 38 states and three countries, including well-known brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt, as well as a diverse range of independent and boutique hotels and restaurants.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Courtyard by Marriott to Little Italy. We are looking forward to being a destination that reflects San Diego’s iconic coastal lifestyle and the soul of this vibrant neighborhood,” Alpha Barry, general manager of Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown Little Italy, said in a press release. “From our culinary offerings to our design, our team has built something that feels fresh, local, and welcoming to guests and neighbors alike.”
