Mochinut is again expanding in Detroit and will soon have a new location near the airport.
Franchisee for the new Mochinut shop coming to Taylor, Ahmed Abdaljawad, told What Now Detroit he and his team have just signed the lease for the space. According to Abdaljawad, they are six-to-eight months out from opening the new location. The official address has not yet been released.
The chain is known for their many donut options, as well as mochinut-balls with flavors like creme brulee and cookies & creme. Along with their signature donuts, Mochinut also sells fried hot dogs with mozzarella, potatoes, crispy ramen, and hot cheetos. Soft serve ice cream and drinks are offered at some locations.
Currently, there are Mochinut locations in Dearborn, Berkeley, Ann Arbor, West Bloomfield, Troy, Shelby Township, Rochester Hills, The franchisers for Troy are listed as having their headquarters at 1771 Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor. All of the shops in the Detroit area are on the north or west sides of the city, so this would be a first for the company.
As the lease was just signed, more information on the opening will be released in the coming months. There has been no official announcement of the Taylor location on social media.
