A smoked barbecue restaurant is leaving Clawson, but will soon find another home.

According to a recent article from The Detroit News, House of Barbecue recently closed its doors following a last fiesta on Saturday, July 12 at 220 S Main Street in Clawson. This featured some of the best barbecue chef and owner Collier Willis has to offer, including a pig roast, seasoned lamb and mac and cheese. Willis decided a move was in his and the team’s best interests following issues with hours of operation.

According to the article, Willis “expects to announce their House of Barbecue restaurant location in the next few months.” He is also serving food at the Arts, Beta & Eats festival on Labor Day in Royal Oak.

The restaurant advertises themselves as “award winning” and “Texas chef-owned and operated.” Willis has worked at restaurants for over 20 years, with experience at establishments including the Oakland Hills Country Club.

On the menu are both lunch and dinner options, with beef brisket, ribs, rib eye steak and pulled pork. There are also seafood dishes like crab cakes and king crab. In terms of desserts, the sweet potato pie has become a praised option.

When What Now Detroit reached out to Willis, he was not available for comment. More information can be found on their Facebook page.
