However, its sister concept, Bannock Street Garage Bar, remains open. Denver locals can stop by the bar at 1015 Bannock St., Denver, CO 80204. This spot is just two blocks away from Cap City Tavern’s original location. The sister bar will offer pizzas, dips, and a drink collection.

The rooftop and video bar, famous for its inclusive atmosphere for the LGBTQ community, closed on July 27. Denver Sweet shared the news on its website. The Denver establishment shared its struggle of getting the business back to pre-pandemic levels as the prime reason to close.
For now, Denver Sweet has not shared plans for a possible return or shift of operations to somewhere else in Denver.
The revered rooftop bar decided to cease operations permanently after a decent six-year run. Through this period, Denver Sweet was admired for its American delicacies like black bean burgers, quesadillas, and more. The LGBTQ bar served eight draft beers, seltzers, and seasonal cocktails.

The beloved craft brewery near Red Rocks Amphitheater opened its doors for the last time on July 20. Over Yonder Brewing Co. had informed regular patrons about its last pour through an Instagram post. It had then stated the troubles of doing business as an independent operator in the Metro Denver area.
Over Yonder Brewing Co. has, however, hinted that it will stay in Denver’s food and drink landscape.
Through its official website, the craft brewery said that “Stay tuned, for it’s not goodbye; it’s just so long.” Over Yonder Brewing has not offered much clarity regarding the type of comeback it will make and at what time.
TRVE Brewing Company

After nearly 13 years in business, the heavy metal-themed brewery wrapped up operations in Denver. TRVE Brewing Company had publicly announced the closure through an Instagram post and shuttered on July 12. Without specifying, its founder Nick Nunns wrote that the brewery was shutting down due to many reasons.
TRVE Brewing hasn’t shared any plans for reopening or launching a new concept. Ever since opening in 2011, the Denver-based establishment has offered heavy metal fans and drink enthusiasts a common space to have a good time. The brewery became a staple for beer lovers and metal fans during its 13-year run.
A common feature in these closures has been rising costs and taxes for independent food/drink ventures in Denver and its metro areas. Though these four businesses have closed, they each played a role in shaping Denver’s nightlife scene.
