A French bistro will now be opening in the former 318 Coffee House Space in late October
The French restaurant Bread & Vine and an event space will take over the 318 Coffee House space at 318 S 3rd Street this fall, per a report from The Daily Herald. The building will also be the headquarters for Marquette Hamlin Group consulting company. Right now, interior work is being done to get the space ready for opening.
Scott Campbell and his wife Candace will be the franchisees of the location. According to Scott, late October now seems to be a firm time to open the restaurant. The building has been on the market since April of last year.
The previous owners, Beckie Untiedt and Jayni and Matthew Wunderlich were the owners of 318 Coffee House. Beckie was one of the owners of Graham’s Fine Chocolates & Ice Cream, and they had to previously close 318 Coffee House due to the COVID pandemic. Although the previous owners are sad to say goodbye, they have high hopes for Bread & Vine.
The first Bread & Vine location in Chicago opened in 2021 at 217 S Main Street in Galena. The restaurant serves breakfast items like omelettes, appetizers, pinsa, and other entrees. Of course, bread and wine is served, and there are also mixed drinks served at the Galena location.
As of now, the first floor of the building is mostly renovated. The second floor will be an event space managed by Marquette Hamlin Group.
