Handcrafted Italian-style gelato is coming to Park Meadows mall, according to the website of emerging dessert franchise I Scream Gelato. The business will open a shop in the dining hall of the busy shopping center, which is located at 8401 Park Meadows Center Dr. in Lone Tree.

The store’s operators, Gary and Lisa Baugher, had originally planned to open a location in the Springs metro area. What Now Denver covered when they were searching for a site last year. But after complications, plans changed, and they seized an opportunity to open at the south metro mall instead.

Lisa told the publication that the business is working with the franchisor to plan some sort of grand opening festivities. Details on that will be available at a later date. The shop’s hours will follow mall hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The Lone Tree location will serve over 30 rotating flavors of authentic Italian gelato made in-house daily using imported ingredients and traditional Italian recipes, alongside Belgian waffles, bubble waffles, pancakes, crepes, smoothies, and milkshakes. The menu also includes vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options, plus seasonal flavors.

“We believe that gelato is not just a treat – it’s a passion.  Our gelato is handcrafted daily, using traditional Italian recipes and only the highest quality ingredients.  With a wide variety of flavors, from classic favorites to innovative seasonal creations, there’s something to satisfy every palate.  We are excited to be bringing authentic Italian gelato and desserts to the Denver area!” she added.
