Round1 Bowling & Arcade is preparing to open two new entertainment complexes in San Diego County, one at Mission Valley Mall, 1750 Camino Del Rio N, and another in the North County Mall in Escondido.
The Mission Valley location will occupy the former Bed Bath & Beyond space, and although no official opening date has been announced, a recent liquor license application indicates progress. Meanwhile, the Escondido site will debut Round1’s newest concept: a Spo-Cha sports entertainment zone alongside the company’s first-ever YUU Japanese Food Hall. The Mission Valley site will also feature a location of this food hall.
“Big news ESCONDIDO! Round1 is coming to the North County Mall, and we’re bringing more than just fun and games,” according to a recent announcement from the company. “Get ready for Spo-cha and our first-ever Japanese food hall, YUU, featuring 14 award-winning street food eateries straight from Japan! Tag your friends and tell us what you’re excited to try first.”
YUU is a culinary destination featuring 14 award-winning Japanese street food vendors, each carefully selected for their excellence and reputation in Japan. From the crispy karaage of Karaage Agesho Shigemori to the rich broths of Ramen Hayato and the delicate skewers of Yakitori Yamato, YUU promises a deep dive into Japanese cuisine unlike anything currently in the U.S. Guests can expect sushi, ramen, takoyaki, curry, onigiri, gelato, and even Neapolitan pizza—all crafted by master chefs with international acclaim.
Round1’s unique mix of entertainment includes arcade games, bowling, karaoke, billiards, and even pickleball. With the addition of Spo-Cha in Escondido, visitors can also enjoy indoor batting cages, basketball courts, and more, all under one roof. It’s a full-day destination designed for families, groups, and anyone looking to level up their leisure time. Round1 Bowling and Arcade currently operates one location within San Diego in Westfield’s Plaza Bonita.
