The Lombard shopping center is getting new tenants this year including an ice cream shop and a sushi restaurant.
The Yorktown Center marketing team recently announced new businesses coming to the shopping mall at 203 Yorktown Shopping Center. Among the new names are Cold Stone Creamery and Uzu Revolving Sushi, both slated to open late this year or early next year. The official addresses have not yet been released.
The other Uzu Revolving Sushi location is in Rockville, Maryland at 1701 Rockville Pike A6. It is following a growing trend of revolving sushi being brought to the states, also known as small dishes being put on conveyor belts for serving. Along with the rolls, there is nigiri sushi, or fish and rice, sashimi, side dishes like edamame, soups and kids options.
“We utilize bullet train delivery and tableside server robots, ensuring prompt and efficient service,” says the description on their website.
Yorktown Center is home to over 150 stores and 15 restaurants and eateries. The other new stores to be added include The Fresh Market, It’s So Fluffy pet products retailer, Wickedball entertainment area, Pro Jersey Sports and Spirit Halloween. The mall is right off of E Butterfield Road on the south side of the city.
As of now, the setup of the Lombard location is not known. Per a recent press release from Yorktown Center, it is going to be very similar to the Maryland location. Franchiser Jimmy Chen told What Now Chicago it is likely the restaurant will be open in four-to-five months as architectural plans are still being evaluated.
