The pool and billiard hall known for serving cocktails and food is seeking a new location in East Village in the West Town neighborhood.
Surge Billiards is seeking new space at 1734-1738 W Chicago Avenue. Surge currently has two locations, one in Albany Park and the other in Logan Square. The application is followed by a social media announcement of a new billiards hall, along with a mural.
In the Instagram post, only the mural is showcased, with a mention of the new West Town location. It was painted on the side of the wall at the corner of N Hermitage Avenue and W Chicago Avenue. The new Surge will be in the building next to Forbidden Root Restaurant & Brewery.
“Located in West Town, this mural emphasis the bright energy the neighborhood holds,” says the post.
The first billiards location for players to pot shots opened in Albany Park. It features 14 pool tables, a large U-shaped bar, and the space also turns into a coffee shop in the mornings. Right now, the setup of the new location has not been confirmed.
Both Albany Park and Logan Square have multiple menus: the daily specials, coffee, drinks and food. Some of their daily specials include the cuban sandwich with fries, quesadillas and lechon tacos, paired with drinks such as house cocktails and wines. On the coffee side, the locations serve regular coffees, cold brews and hot teas.
