Heritage Supper Club looks to be preparing to open its own brick-and-mortar location. It is heading to a 3,390-square-foot space at 63 Georgia Ave. SE, according to a recent building permit.

The permit indicates plans to combine two tenant spaces into a single restaurant space, with buildout of the restaurant to follow.

Launched by chef Demetrius Brown in 2021, Heritage Supper Club has been operating as a pop-up in Atlanta for years. Back in 2021, Brown shared with What Now Atlanta that he hoped to eventually bring the concept to a standalone restaurant space.

The pop-up focuses on the cuisines of Black and Brown people, diving into Caribbean and Afro-American culture and cuisine and exploring the foods of the African diaspora. For the concept, Brown draws inspiration from his own roots and his Trinidadian family.

In 2023, Brown and his partner Brandon Blanchard landed a residency for Heritage Supper Club at Inman Park cafe Bread and Butterfly. Later that year, the owner sold Bread and Butterfly to the duo, and since then, Heritage Supper Club has had a presence there, hosting events and weaving some of its own flavors into the Bread and Butterfly offerings.

The pop-up thus far has specialized in fine dining, featuring multi-course tasting menus. It has featured items from across the African diaspora, including Haitian beef patties, Haitian poulet nan sous (chicken in sauce) with red beans, peppers and chicken jus, and pepper pot with beef cheek, oxtail, fry bread, greens and peppers. As of now, it is unclear exactly what the menu at a brick-and-mortar will offer.

An exact opening timeline remains unclear at this time.
