It was a blow to the local music scene when The Soiled Dove Underground closed its doors after nearly two decades in Denver’s Lowry neighborhood. But fans of the former business will be happy to hear that the owner is working on reopening it elsewhere, according to recent posts.

The news that there may be a second life for the establishment came from The Soiled Dove owner Frank Schultz, who claimed he has plans to bring it back “in a different location” at a later date. Specifics on where or when have not been announced.

Schultz’s Tavern Hospitality Group operated both The Soiled Dove and The Tavern Lowry lounge upstairs. According to 9 News, both businesses closed in early 2024 amid a “major restructuring phase” after a legal battle between him and his mother, who was co-owner. The building was put up for sale.

Then recently, BusinessDen reported that the 13,000-square-foot property (at 7401 E. First Ave.) was sold. Surgeon and musician Dr. Jacquelyn Glenn is going to open a new concept with a venue, classrooms, and a recording studio for her music school, Rock The Stages.
