A metro Detroit local is bringing a new coffee shop to the northwest suburb.

The owner of Bean & Bagel, Anthony Zora, is getting ready to open the new cafe at 6585 Commerce Road. This is his first concept for the area, and Zora said he is opening the West Bloomfield location tomorrow. If all goes well he is planning on expanding to Ann Arbor and Northville as well.

Zora has been seeking to open his own coffee chain for a while. It will feature both coffees and special-made bagels, hence the name. An official menu hasn’t been released, but bagels with egg, cheese and ham have been advertised online.

As of October, the business was hiring for team member positions, and construction was finishing inside. In a photo of the kitchen, coffee makers are installed, as well as an oven to make the bagels and pastries.

“Come be among the first to enjoy our freshly brewed coffee, warm bagels and grab a goodie bag,” said the recent Facebook post.

Bean & Bagel is being built next to Clean Eats on the south side of Commerce Road, across the street from Green Lake. This is a small plaza near the corner of Green Lake Road, and it will be one of the few coffee shops serving the area.

For the future locations, Zora does not have address yet, but the new shops are in the plans. More information on Bean & Bagel can be found on their Instagram @bean.bagel2025.
