A nationally recognized cheesecake brand is moving into the northern neighborhood later this year.
For the Love of Cheesecake is set to debut their first brick-and-mortar location at 18685 Livernois soon. The company has been operating pop-ups at the location to showcase what is to come. Owner Cortney Hamilton is hoping to open the space by January, with a possible soft opening in December.
“For the Love of Cheesecake stands out by offering fully customizable cheesecakes–crafted with love from the crust to the toppings,” says the description on their website. Signature cakes include the candy bar specialty cheesecake topped with choices of Snickers Reeses, Butterfingers and Ktikat. Another option is the fruit topping cheesecake with strawberries.
The cafe will also serve coffees with an espresso machine, cookies, croissants and popcorn. Hamilton is partnering with Coffee Uplifts People, an international coffee brand founded by Angela Yee and Tony Forte.
Hamilton’s business is hailed as “Metro Detroit‘s #1 cheesecake,” reciting recognition by both local and national media. She is a self-taught baker, and she has served over 100,000 cakes since the start. With the new location, Hamilton will have a full kitchen which will allow her to increase production of the sweets.
The inside of the shop is currently being worked on, including the kitchen. The location is right across from Toss & Sauce on the west side of Livernois. This is also close to the University District neighborhood.
