Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp. has filed for bankruptcy protection amid mounting debt. Through the latest filing, the supply chain management company is hoping to keep operations going while the case moves through the court.

Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp. Files for Bankruptcy Protection

Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp. filed a Chapter 11 petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. The company submitted the petition on Friday, November 14.

With this Chapter 11 process, Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp. plans to reorganize its business operations.

According to Pacer, the company initiated the Chapter 11 proceedings by paying $1,738. Attorney Turner Falk from Saul Ewing LLP is offering legal representation to the supply chain management company in the bankruptcy case. Judge John K Sherwood is supervising the latest case of Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp.

As part of the voluntary petition, attorney Turner Falk submitted several first-day motions, including requests for continuation of utility services, payment of employee wages, and continuation of benefits, using existing bank accounts, and more.

Also on November 14, the company requested a joint administration of its affiliates’ cases, including P. Judge & Sons, Inc., P. Judge & Sons Trucking, LLC, and Amex Shipping Agent, Inc.

The final date for Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp. to file a reorganization plan is March 16, 2026.

On November 15, attorney Turner Falk requested that the New Jersey Bankruptcy Court shorten the time of the case. Additionally, a Notice of Appearance and Request for Service of Notice was filed by David Gerardi on behalf of the U.S. Trustee.

On November 16, the court approved the supply chain management company’s request to shorten the time. Further, attorney Turner Falk submitted a Declaration of Patrick Wynne in support of its first day motions and requesting urgent motions. The New Jersey Bankruptcy Court scheduled the first-day hearings for Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp. on November 18.

On November 17, a Notice of Appearance and Request for Service of Notice was filed by Fran B. Steele on behalf of the U.S. Trustee. That same day, the court approved an expedited schedule for first-day matters. A hearing for the same was scheduled for Wednesday, November 19.

The New Jersey Bankruptcy Court issued a ‘Show Cause’ order due to missed schedules (assets/liabilities lists) by Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp. A hearing for this order was scheduled for December 9.

Notice of Appearance and Request for Service of Notice were filed by different parties. The bankruptcy court approved the supply chain management company’s request for joint administration of member cases on November 18.

Stephen B. Ravin submitted an application for Attorney Maxwell M. Hanamirian to appear pro hac vice. An objection deadline for the same is November 25.

On November 19, Judge John K Sherwood heard many motions in the Chapter 11 case for Port Elizabeth Terminal & Warehouse Corp. Outcomes for most of these, as given on PacerMonitor, were either ‘granted’ or ‘granted on an interim basis.’

The court also issued an interim financing order that day. The clerk in the New Jersey Bankruptcy Court then issued BNC Certificates of Notice to parties informing them of different orders entered.

As the case progresses, the company’s reorganization will hinge on securing financing and court approval of its restructuring plan.
