After nearly 40 years at 317 East Kettleman Lane in Lodi, Pietro’s Trattoria has a new home, and the original site is being transformed into an upscale steakhouse.
The family-owned Italian-American staple officially relocated to 282 Rocky Lane in Reynolds Ranch on November 8, welcoming guests with the same warmth that has defined Pietro’s for decades.
“Nearly 40 years after opening in Lodi, we are humbled to open a new home for Pietro’s—one that honors our history while positioning us for the future,” third-generation owner Pete Murdaca said in a statement. “We believe what we offer can stand alongside the best restaurants in the Bay Area and across the country, while remaining deeply rooted in Lodi as a catalyst for the city’s continued growth and prosperity.”
According to a press release, the new 300-seat restaurant, designed by Arcanum Architecture with interiors by Jon de la Cruz, blends the classic warmth of Pietro’s with a lively California aesthetic, featuring a glass-walled Pasta Laboratory, family-style booths, and a covered outdoor patio with garden-inspired seating and a central fountain.
Guests can expect Pietro’s signature, beloved menu, from antipasti like Rosetta’s Arancini and Burrata Toast to pastas including Pappardelle, Ripieni, and Amatriciana, alongside main courses such as Porchetta, Oxtail, and pizza baked in a new Mugnaini oven imported from Naples.
Pietro’s was founded in 1956, when the Murdaca family patriarch immigrated from Calabria, Italy. In 1985, he and his son Jim brought the family’s recipes and traditions to Lodi, where Pietro’s quickly became a cornerstone of the local dining scene and a beloved gathering spot for the community.
While details about the new Kettleman Lane concept remain under wraps for now, a representative told What Now Sacramento that the Murdacas plan to retain the building and are working on a new restaurant, with more information to come in 2026. However, a Facebook post from 209 Times notes the space will open as an upscale Italian steakhouse after a complete remodel.
For now, excited diners can savor Pietro’s classic Italian-American dishes, enjoy pasta-making demonstrations, and soak in the bright, convivial energy of the restaurant’s new Reynolds Ranch home.
