MicroBrasserie Charlevoix, a Quebec-based craft brewery, is investing $10 million to open a new turnkey brewery in Baie-Saint-Paul at the Écoquartier des Moissons agri-food park.
The new facility will total 16,000 square feet, including 10,000 square feet for production and 6,000 square feet dedicated to customer experience, according to Le Charlevoisien. While an exact construction start date is pending permits, the shop and restaurant are expected to open in Fall 2026, with production transfer planned for winter 2027. Customers can expect an 80-seat restaurant, a 200-person beer garden, a shop, an open kitchen, and a museum space.
Founded in 1998 by Frédérick Tremblay and Caroline Bandulet, MicroBrasserie Charlevoix has grown from a 500-litre home brewing setup to a company producing 10,000 hectoliters per year. The brewery currently employs 25 people and has beers available at over 2,000 points of sale across Quebec and North America. The new facility will triple production capacity to 30,000 hectoliters annually.
The project is expected to create roughly 30 new jobs, primarily in service, catering, and reception roles. The site is designed to offer a visitor experience inspired by European beer gardens, combining both employee and customer amenities. Its location near the 18th hole of Le Loup Golf Club provides high visibility and accessibility via Route 138, a future bike path, and a snowmobile trail.
The brewery’s customer experience is central to the design, with a full-service restaurant, terrace, and open spaces for tasting and retail. Seasonal and year-round beers will continue to be available on-site, alongside educational and interactive experiences for visitors.
MicroBrasserie Charlevoix has built a reputation as a local ambassador for the Charlevoix region. The new brewery reinforces its commitment to innovation, production growth, and connecting customers with the region’s agri-food network.
