Thai Express, a Canadian eatery from MTY Food Group Inc., is getting ready to open a new location in Contrecœur at Cité 3000.

The company’s new location is set to join the growing tenant mix at Cité 3000, with an opening planned for 2026, according to Les2Rives. The official announcement was made late last month and included Contrecœur Mayor Maud Allaire, representatives from Thai Express, the Business District, and project partners. Customers can expect a fast-casual Thai menu featuring dishes such as pad thai, curries, and stir-fried meals.

Cité 3000 continues to expand as a commercial hub in Contrecœur, gradually building out a mix of retail, dining, and service businesses. The development already includes several national brands, including Starbucks, McDonald’s, Sushi Shop, Boustan, Ben & Florentine, Canac, and others. The addition of Thai Express further broadens the food offerings in the area.

The site is positioned at a key junction along Highway 30, which connects several South Shore communities, making it a steady traffic area for both commuters and local residents. This will be an excellent landing space for Thai Express as the development continues to build out its retail footprint.

Thai Express is a Montreal-born brand that launched in 1998 and has since grown into a global chain with more than 300 locations worldwide. The concept helped popularize quick-service Thai cuisine in Canada, offering a streamlined take on traditional dishes. Its growth has remained rooted in its Canadian origins while expanding internationally.

The menu includes a wide range of options built around Thai street-food flavors, including pad Thai, General Thai dishes, curries, noodle bowls, and fried rice. Popular items include Tom Yum soup, basil fried rice, and stir-fried noodle dishes like Pad See Ew. The concept focuses on fast preparation and customizable meals designed for everyday dining.

MTY Food Group’s portfolio includes a variety of brands such as Papa Murphy’s, Cold Stone Creamery, Sweet Frog, Sushi Shop, Toujours Mikes, Mucho Burrito, Bâton Rouge, Manchu Wok, Baja Fresh, Mr. Sub, Yuzu Sushi, Pizza Delight, Scores, Ben & Florentine, The Counter, Planet Smoothie, and Allô Mon Coco, among others.
