While popular wisdom says to not count your coffee beans before they’re brewed, Memphis java enthusiasts can officially get excited for the arrival of their next coffee obsession. Demolition has begun on the Summer Avenue site set to be the next home of certified coffee juggernaut, 7 Brew, reports Daily Memphian.

Before the first cup of java can be brewed, locals will need to bid adieu to Day and Night Animal Hospital. 7 Brew franchisee Tim Heeren was issued a demolition permit for the 4670 Summer Avenue storefront from the Memphis and  Shelby County Division of Planning and Development on April 7.

Once the 3,115 square foot building is demolished, work can begin in earnest on 7 Brews’ new home. The drive-thru cafe will occupy 510 square feet and will have an associated 270 square foot remote cooler.

While the onset of demolition does not provide a comprehensive opening timeline, it is a notable and marked leap forward in the development of the coffee shop, one of several 7 Brew locations spearheaded by local rockstar franchisee Heeren.

7 Brew has proven itself to be a formidable presence in the fast-casual coffee scene since its founding in 2017. Fueled by a menu of coffees, sodas, matchas, smoothies, energy drinks, and shakes, the chain now has more than 600 locations open and operational.
