Looking for a new way to satisfy a sweet craving, Southaven? Loves Dessert Bar, a Memphis-based concept is about to offer a freshly baked way to scratch that itch. Loves Dessert Bar is bringing its delicious treats to a storefront in the neighborhood, with work currently underway.
Loves Dessert Bar is already a Memphis-area favorite, serving up delectable bites in Cordova. It will be making its Southaven debut at 174 Stateline Rd W, in the storefront that previously housed Brown Baguette Bakery Cafe. Owner Shonsanta Love kindly spoke to What Now Memphis about bringing her bakery to a new neighborhood, explaining that she wasn’t actively looking to expand. “It was an offer that came to me.” she says. “I wasn’t necessarily looking for a storefront at the moment but when the opportunity presented itself I had to follow it.”
Shonsanta will be maintaining the standards that have made Loves such a beloved neighborhood staple. “We’ll keep what we’re offering…we’ll do custom ordering, catering, we’ll do grab-and-go…we’re figuring out what the community wants. I’m excited about what we have to offer and more people figuring out what we’re all about. I’m excited about what we have to offer to our community.”
Loves Dessert Bar allows customers to enjoy a delectable sweet treat without regret. Shonsanta explains that the bakery specializes in small and beautifully decorated treats. “We started off five years ago with mini cheesecakes-an opportunity to try something and not over-indulge. You can still have the good things without being totally restricted.”
Shonsanta’s beautiful creations impress on every level, thanks to her commitment to detail and quality. She explains: “It’s a conversation starter- ‘those look too good to eat’. Presentation is something I put my everything into-you eat with your eyes!” She adds that consistency is a huge priority at Loves. “We want to make sure every time you order from us, it’s consistent, and every time you get that great quality.”
Loves will be a grab-and-go establishment for the foreseeable future, but Shonsanta states that she is optimistic that someday folks will be able to enjoy her treats on site, saying: “We’re hoping to be able to expand one day to where we can offer seating.”
Southaven will be able to stop into Loves for a delicious bite relatively soon. Shonsanta says that she is hoping to be open between mid-August and early September.
