A popular Lehigh Valley distillery is undergoing renovations ahead of its spring reopening.
Triple Sun Spirits Co., founded in 2016 by Kristofer Kwant, is upgrading its Emmaus location at 518 Bank St. The space will remain closed during renovations, though its Newtown outpost is still open.
“The Triple Sun Spirits Emmaus Tasting Room will be closed for an aesthetic and layout remodel. We’re excitedly preparing for a grand reopening, aligned with our 10-Year Anniversary. These fresh updates will elevate the space and enhance guest experience as we enter our next decade,” the website reads.
Once completed, the new space, called “The Railyard,” will feature three distinct rooms flowing seamlessly into one another. It will include a new game room and dining room. The existing tasting room and retail shop will remain, but will be upgraded to create a more elevated lounge experience, WFMZ reported.
The game room will feature arcade games, pool tables, shuffleboard, a digital jukebox and televisions, while the dining room will offer an open kitchen serving elevated sandwiches and salads. Both spaces will feature expanded bars, fresh paint, new lighting and updated furniture.
The goal of “The Railyard” is to combine a traditional distillery experience with a sit-down restaurant concept.
The revamp comes as the distillery marks its 10th anniversary. The idea for the business, however, dates back 15 years, when Kwant and his father began brewing beer at home, according to the website.
After years of refining his craft, earning awards and becoming a certified beer judge, Kwant looked for a new challenge. He ultimately transitioned into the spirits world.
In a full-circle moment, he founded Triple Sun Spirits Co., naming it in honor of his three sons.
“From the beginning, Kristofer’s goal was to create a community-based, artisanal distillery with an environmentally responsible business model that he and his family could truly be proud of,” the website reads.
The outlet reported the Emmaus location is planning to reopen mid-May. Visit the Triple Sun Spirits Co. website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
