As one dining option closes in the city, another opens soon.
Tavern On Main at 101 E Main Street is going through a change of concept as owner Marc Owczarzak is turning the restaurant into O’s Mid & Main. The building will mostly stay the same as it was recently renovated. Owczarzak told What Now Detroit he is looking to reopen sometime in early June.
The original Tavern on Main opened in early 2024 with a full bar inside. The team is planning on keeping the bar, with some slight redesigns for the colors and motif.
“Customers will notice the difference; it is really beautiful,” Owczarzak said. He added the bar will have a full cocktail program, wines and a dozen beers on tap.
For food options, Owczarzak said they are shifting to more dinner options like steaks, seafoods and salads. Like the last concept, burgers and sandwiches will still be available. Tavern On Main also featured wings, quesadillas and appetizers like their bar pretzel and potato skins.
The restaurant is right in downtown Midland at the corner of E Main and Ashman streets. The building is next to WhichCraft Taproom, and Pizza Sam’s Midland is right across the street. This area of Main Street is often closed off for city events.
