Dime Store Closes Rochester Hills Location on Mother’s Day

Dime Store, a neighborhood brunch restaurant at 6920 N Rochester Rd., will permanently shut on May 10. The restaurant posted that after difficult conversations, they have decided to close.

Dime Store opened its Rochester Hills location in 2024, bringing breakfast, brunch, and lunch options to a new community. The restaurant, located inside Papa Joe’s Plaza, opened with more perks than the original location.

Diners enjoy the restaurant’s classics in more space, an expanded bar lineup, exclusive menu items, and catering services. In its closure announcement, the restaurant said it had aimed to become a long-term part of the community.

However, financial struggles made it difficult for the concept to sustain. Once the Rochester Hills location closes, Dime Store fans can visit the Detroit location as it continues to serve.

In the post, the restaurant thanked guests, saying, “To the guests who came in, brought friends, spread the word, and supported us along the way, thank you. Those moments meant a lot to us and to the amazing team who worked hard every day.”

Established in downtown Detroit in 2014, Dime Store is known for “scratch-made everything.” The restaurant features chef-driven menus with dishes created by classically trained chefs.

In 2024, the brand expanded to Rochester Hills, where it had the space to focus on house-made cooking and locally operated hospitality. Signature items include Duck Bop Hash, Cheesesteak Benny, General Tso’s Benedict, and rotating chef’s specials featuring seasonal or international flavors.

Sandwiches, salads, hand-cut fries, and brunch cocktails like Bloody Marys, mimosas, espresso martinis, and Irish coffee are also served in the restaurant.

The restaurant has been highlighted in outlets and guides including Detroit Metro Times and Hour Detroit and has strong ratings on Yelp.
